Best Dog Parks in Carrollton, GA

Board and train dog training

Carrollton, GA is a rich, thriving community full of pet parents and their fur babies, all of whom are constantly looking for places to bond that don’t cramp their style. For some people, that looks like a favorite trail. For others, it’s a large open space where their dog can run free. Carrollton can offer all that and more.

Dog owners are some of the most routine-based people. We get up, we feed the pets, we take them out, we do our day, and we go for the same walk along the same street that we’ve been haunting for the last decade. But the cool thing is, it doesn’t have to be that way. Switching things up can breathe new life into your relationship, and it gives you plenty of opportunities to work on training.

Since there is a lot to sort through, we’ve saved you the trouble and compiled a list of the best places to visit in and near Carrollton, GA, with your dog. Whichever of these options you choose, you can be sure that you’ll find places to hang out, make friends, and get plenty of fresh air.

Sprayberry Road Park Dog Park

60 Sprayberry Rd, Newnan, GA, US, 30263

We’re starting off strong with the dog park in Sprayberry Road Park, where every dog can run off-leash and find plenty of interesting things to sniff and explore. They have picnic benches, water stations, tunnels for high-energy pups, and green grass to keep your dog clean while they have the time of their life. Sprayberry Road Park isn’t technically in Carrollton, GA, but trust us when we say that it’s worth the short drive to get away from home and away from the mundane. Maybe grab a pup cup and a coffee before heading over so that you can settle in fully for a day out.

Bark On Bradley

306 Bradley St, Carrollton, GA, US, 30117

Bark on Bradley is directly across from City Hall in downtown Carrollton. It’s a fenced area with features such as open space, waste stations, water features, and extra green turf. There’s plenty of open space for your four-legged friend to run until they’re ready to settle down for a nap.

Carrollton has a certain fondness for Bark on Bradley. Maybe that has something to do with residents of all backgrounds being welcome, or maybe it has to do with the free pet pantry where you can either pick up or donate food, toys, and other necessities for canine companions who might be lacking.

Allatoona Pass

Emerson-Allatoona Road, Cartersville, GA 30121

Spice up your life with a visit to Allatoona Pass. It’s a quiet trail, shaded by pine, with a surprisingly adventurous history. In 1862, it became important in the Great Locomotive Chase, when Union soldiers in disguise used it to attempt to destroy crucial bridges along the Western and Atlantic line. They did this by using The General, which is a Confederate locomotive that they stole. This pass also saw a gruesome Civil War battle.

The further you go, the more interesting things you’ll see, such as a 95-foot-long gorge or stairs leading to Star Fort. Take your pup with you and step back in time for a walk that’s both fun and educational.

Longview Park

705 Longview Street, Carrollton, GA

Longview Park is a part of a shaded community near the University of West Georgia. It has a playground, a pavilion, and (the reason we’re here) a dog park. For $15 an hour, you can have access to seven picnic tables, two tennis courts, six horseshoe pits, and more. We know that paying for access isn’t your favorite thing, but you might just find it worth it when you discover how clean, beautiful, and friendly this park is. It’s worth noting that your first time finding the dog park might be a little tricky, since it’s behind a tennis court, but once you know where you’re going, you’ll have a grand time. Thankfully, we have the directions of those who have gone before us to make our visit easy-peasy.
